Arts Gen 2020 Annual Report

Co-health Arts Gen is a learning, sharing and art making hub based in Footscray Community Arts Centre in Melbourne’s inner west. This project was a creative collaboration between Studio Cahoots and On Jackson Street, with all textures created by Oliver Page-Dutton. We worked closely with the Arts Gen team to create a vibrant and cohesive piece that would reflect youth and movement.

As this was their first publication, it was important to build a strong visual identity throughout. This was done through use of colour, texture and using a mixture of structured and unconventional solutions to an annual report context. The result is a playful take on an often regimented design outcome, that can be enjoyed by participants and stakeholders alike.

Our work aims to address the social and cultural determinants of health, including ongoing colonisation, racism and other forms of structural discrimination have direct negative impacts on wellbeing.

We believe that when communities have the power and access to the arts, to develop and determine health and wellbeing initiatives, it leads to truly representative culture making.”
